The Shambles in York

Probably the most famous place in York this is a 14th Century butchers row. Nowadays it is much cleaner than it would have been when butchers would have thrown the animal remains into the road below and now its very popular to visit. I took this one evening after waiting almost an hour to capture it with no-one in the image. I wanted to give the viewer a sense of the history of this street.
