Castle Stalker, Appin, Argyll, Scotland by Dominic Ellett

Castle Stalker, Appin, Argyll, Scotland

One of the quirkiest and dramatic views in Scotland has to be Castle Stalker. It's a medieval keep that sits on an islet near Appin guarding Loch Laich in the Highlands. It was built in the 14th century and is mired in tales of clan feuds, murder, betrayal, drunken bets, and battle! Catch it when the Loch is still and the sky provides m the drama. Monty Python fans will recognise it as the ‘Castle of Arrrgh!’ from the Holy Grail movie.
