Callanish Stone Circle, Isle of Lewis

The Callanish Standing Stones, referred to by many as “The Stonehenge of the North” is an enigmatic stone circle setting on The Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. Interpreted for its astronomical alignments with the moon, this arrangement of stones made for a dramatic sunrise. As I walked the cobbles alone to the main site, a blanket of mist enveloped the scene; projecting the sun’s golden light, revealing the true majesty of the stones.
